The Alliance on Gender Equality

for fostering gender equality in the workplace

CEO Alliance on Gender Equality is a joint initiative of IKEA and AFA, supported by the Embassy of Sweden for closing gender gap in working environment.


The aim of the Alliance is to spread the idea of inclusive culture where both women and men are valued for their unique contributions in working environment, in society and in families.

Gender equal companies are better for its workers, have a lower job turnover and levels of attrition, and have easier recruitment process as well as higher rates of retention, job satisfaction and productivity. It is a driver for economic growth; it boosts jobs, lower unemployment rate and increase GDP per capita and gender balanced teams are more creative, innovative and efficient.


The gender equality is a win-win for all and the most gender equal countries are the countries that have the highest ranking in happiness scale. We strive to create synergy of men and women, in making the greater impact together and creating a better society for present and future generations.

This Alliance is currently bringing together companies that employ close to 5,000 employees in Serbia and its aim is to expand it to as many companies as possible to exchange knowledge for achieving gender balanced work environment.

In addition to the situation improvement in the working environment, the Alliance will work on empowering local communities in respected topics. The companies will present their contributions as well as future goals in a joint annual report.

Alliance is already supported by leading companies in Serbia and abroad: MasterCard, Asseco, UniCredit Bank, Delta Holding and Telenor Serbia.

So, in this case I think that our alliance is actually both the good company and an amazing tool to achieve the goal of promoting women and women equality and equality in terms of jobs, salaries and so on.

The professional carrier for everybody, both men and women should be tailored to their capacity but also dreams.
